- Spring and Strawberries

You popped your head out from the thick green vines, the tangy smell of strawberries all around you. You heard leaves rustle and you whipped around, only to find that no one was there.

"Uni? I know you're there! Come on out."

"You'll have to find me first!" He taunted.

More bushes rustled to your left, and you bent on all four paws while you stalked the sound to its source. A red tipped tail flicked temptingly from under a clump of leaves and you grinned, bunching your muscles in anticipation to spring. Your fluffy butt wriggled, your tail swished in concentration, until

"RAWR!!!"

You lunged and landed squarely on something soft. Just under your paws was...a leaf. You had missed your target entirely. With a frustrated whimper you sat heavily on your tail, swatting at the leaf bad-temperedly.

"Gotcha!"

With a yelp you toppled backwards, staring straight up into the face of your boyfriend Uni the wolf. He grinned an adorable lop-sided grin as he stood over you, tail wagging. You giggled as his breath stirred your hair and tickled your face. Playfully you swatted him with a paw.

"Uni! You scared the heck out of me!"

He buried his nose into the scruff of your neck, snuffling and tickling you some more. "Awww~ I'm sorry. I'll make it up you."

"How?"

He looked around, pondering and looking for something, ears suddenly perking up as he found it and bounded away to grab it. You rolled over and watched him until he came back, dangling a fat juicy strawberry from his teeth. It hovered temptingly over you and you watched it swing, like a big shiny ruby, tempting you and making you hungrier than ever. With a leap you jumped, missed, came down, jumped again; everytime your teeth closed on air as Uni teasingly pulled it just out of your reach. With a frustrated playful growl you danced on your hindlegs while you reached for it.

"Come on, Uni! Gimme it!"

He chuckled. "What're the magic words?"

"I don't know~"

"Nope. Not it."

"I'm hungry! GIMME!"

"Those aren't it either. Come on, you know this!"

Sitting, exhausted from the effort, you decided to play along. Thinking long, you stuck out your bottom lip pensively. Suddenly it hit you.

"I luff chu~~~!"

Uni grinned, lowering the strawberry to your level. "That's right!" And I luff chu, too."

Uni ate away at one end, you ate the other, your soft noses meeting gently in the middle.

Snapping out of your daydream, you and Uni laid in a bed made from the vines of the strawberry plants. You held up a strawberry and he gratefully accepted it, kissing you with half of the strawberry poking out that you bit into also. You giggled and snuggled deeper into the crook of his neck, his arm tightening around your torso.

Both of you sighed happily, snuggling closer than ever possible. The warm spring breeze wrapper you both in a sweet smelling blanket, the sun gave everything a bright yellow glowing hue. The very air radiated love; it was just meant to be
